Very very crowded and loud. Be prepared for that. Service was okay. Our wine guy was great and funny. But classic American dining style- our waitress was very obvious in rushing us out, which I always find annoying. I get they want to make more money, but the user and dining experience is also essential to the success of an establishment. Alas. Food was mediocre at best, but "cheap" for DC. Don't plan to eat to get full here- just snacks. Wine was good enough, $10 each to split a bottle which isn't bad for DC. Overall, the place is very packed and loud and busy, filled with early 20s people. If you are okay with that vibe as a "cheap" easy accessible DC spot to split a bottle- I'd say it's worth the venture. Also you should definitely make reservations about a week out! It's booked and busy and you'd be foolish not to have reservations on a weekend night. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, and certainly wouldn't frequent this spot- but truthfully it's not an awful place to go occasionally with some friends. I think for what it is, Barcelona is obviously very successful. Mid-food, adequate wine, sufficient service, fair location, "cheap" prices and the sensation that you are somewhere relevant where everyone else is. Wouldn't take anyone here over the age of 33, as they would be an ancient artifact with all the young people - but for the younger crowd- I'd say it's a decent spot.

Barcelona is always such a good place to catch up with friends over some good food and drinks! Each time I've been I have had different food the food has been lovely and there's so many vegetarian options. I have been for brunch, lunch, and dinner and the vibes have been great both inside or outside. I prefer outside for a nice summer day but the dark dimly lit inside is also a vibe for a dinner date.

I like! I like! Great ambience sitting outside on a beautiful summer evening. Ricardo was a great waiter who was very knowledgeable of the menu and provided great recommendations. The food was delivered quickly and was tasty! Their menu has a variety of options. Second time here and will definitely be back!!
